An East Meets West Encounter!
Richard and Onuma Kidd met in Thailand, December 1984. After a whirlwhind romance, they decided to marry in 1985.
On the 14th August 1986, they built the first Thai restaurant for Norwich. This was to be no ordinary restaurant, a civic reception welcomed Thai Cuisine to Norwich. The Lord Mayor, Buddhist Monks from Thailand and River Kwai veterans all made this a very memorable opening.
Onuma's fantastic food was a huge success, so much so that by October 1988, bigger premises had to be found to relocate her wonderful cuisine. On the 31st May 1991, the Thailand Restaurant moved to Thorpe St. Andrew by the Ring Road.
It is now regarded as one of the finest Thai restaurants in the UK! We hope that you will enjoy the romantic ambience and superb flavours of Onuma's dishes and culinary delights and we look forward to seeing you with your friends in the future!
